We\u2019d use these utilities to repair the faulty disk which would eventually fix the error.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>FIX 1: Use Disk Utility<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This is a GUI-based utility on Mac that can find and repair errors related to the formatting and directory structure of Mac-supported disks.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">To fix the error on disk, follow the steps given below:<\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Connect the drive (if external) to your Mac system<\/li>\n<li>Reboot or Turn on your Mac, and immediately press and hold Command (\u2318) and R keys simultaneously<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><em>[IMPORTANT]:<\/em><\/strong><em> If the affected drive is an external drive and you\u2019re able to boot your Mac normally, <\/em><em>open Disk Utility from the utility folder of your Applications folder, and skip steps 2 through 5.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>4. As soon as you see the Apple logo, spinning globe, or other startup screens, release the keys<\/p>\n<p>5. <span style=\"text-align: justify;\">If prompted, enter the requested password and click <\/span><strong style=\"text-align: justify;\">Continue<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>6. <span style=\"text-align: justify;\">Select <\/span><strong style=\"text-align: justify;\">Disk Utility<\/strong><span style=\"text-align: justify;\"> and click <\/span><strong style=\"text-align: justify;\">Continue.\u00a0<\/strong>This would open <strong>Disk Utility<\/strong> window<\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify;\" start=\"7\">\n<li>From the menu bar or toolbar in Disk Utility Choose <strong><strong>View &gt; You can run this command only by rebooting your Mac into Single User mode. Let\u2019s see the steps.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>2a. Run FSCK Command on Mac Boot Drive <\/strong><\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><strong>Restart<\/strong> your Mac, and press <strong>Command+S<\/strong> keys while it restarts<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">You\u2019d enter <strong>Single User mode<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify;\" start=\"2\">\n<li>Release the keys when you see white text start appearing on the screen<\/li>\n<li>When the white text has completely loaded you should be able to see a command prompt at the bottom of the screen that reads\u00a0<strong>root#<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">If you don\u2019t see root# at the bottom, hit <strong>Return<\/strong> once or twice. Doing this would show root#.<\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify;\" start=\"4\">\n<li>Type the command <strong>\/sbin\/fsck \u2013fy<\/strong> and then press <strong>Return<\/strong> to fix the error on Mac boot drive<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Where, <strong>-fy<\/strong> means force (<strong>f<\/strong>) check file system, and automatically say yes (<strong>y<\/strong>) to any prompt.<\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify;\" start=\"5\">\n<li>After execution of the command completes, try restarting your Mac by typing <strong>reboot<\/strong> and hitting <strong>Return<\/strong> key<\/li>\n<li>Check if this boots your Mac and gets you rid of the error on Mac<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>2b.
